Richard Wengle, one of Canada’s most eminent architects, has designed The Aston Residences to feel part of the Lawrence Park and Bedfork park neighbourhoods that have inspired his vision. Alternating light-coloured stone and brick layers with contrasting black window frames and balconies, the façade signals the quiet luxury of the community, and its connection to the late-Georgian architectural style of Great Britain. Wengle’s focus on quality and functional beauty allows The Aston Residences to stand out as an aesthetically positive contribution to the streetscape.
The making of a master architect
Richard Wengle began his career building custom-designed luxury homes. He started his own company, Richard Wengle Architects Inc. in 1992 and now has a staff of approximately 20 professional designers and architects. Since then, Wengle has garnered a reputation as the architect of choice for unique, boutique- style buildings such as The Aston Residences. Looking to architecture around the world for inspiration, Wengle has travelled widely, and has a personal collection of more than 60,000 photos from his global travels.
